New to Mineral Ownership? Understanding Your Distributions
If you’re new to mineral ownership, your first year of distributions may feel uneven, and that’s completely normal.
Early on, payments don’t all arrive at once. Each operator verifies ownership and releases funds on their own timeline, which can result in smaller initial payments followed by larger “catch-up” distributions as additional operators come into pay. Revenue may also be temporarily held (not lost) until this process is complete.
Over time, as more operators begin paying, distributions typically become more consistent, though some variability is always expected.
